Eating Your Words is an introduction to reading biblical narrative. The Bible is a feast, waiting to be tasted and savored, waiting to nourish and brighten our souls. This book invites readers to remember the rich color and texture of the Bible, and to read it with eyes that see and understand the narrative art and craft of its stories. Why? Because grasping the biblical narrators' literary form and technique allows us greater understanding of the Bible's meaning.

Another Angle: Seeing Sacrament and Life through Poetry and Story is a sort of thought experiment. Many Christians--myself included--have our theological lens through which we view the world. However, our perspective lacks any sense of art and its value and importance in our properly understanding life and the world around us. Focusing primarily on union and communion as experienced in the sacraments and the day to day life to which they point, I argue that art is another lens through which we need to see if we're to make fuller sense of the world. I then seek to demonstrate this idea through poems and a novella of my own.

You Want Me to Read What?! is a short introduction to reading and interpreting poetry. Reading poetry is often a bore and a burden to students, but I think that's because of the way they approach it. My aim is to show them that they already like poetry, they just may not have understood that yet. I'm seeking to make some sense out of this art form that hasn't made much sense to them before.

Soil and Seed is my first book and is a re-envisioning of the life of Abraham and his vision of Christ's day. As Jesus says, "Your father Abraham rejoiced that he would see my day. He saw it and was glad."
